On June 12th, Wu-Tang Clan's GZA has pledged support with an appearance at The Marijuana Policy Project's third annual open event at Los Angeles' legendary Playboy Mansion.
The Marijuana Policy Project is an advocate to stop the war on marijuana, an effort that has caused casualties and fatalities on criminal victims. MPP board members include former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, actor Jack Black and others. The event last year featured Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder [click to read], veteran Hip Hop producer and Friday writer DJ Pooh, and actor Cedric Yarbrough [click to read], among others.
"This is a historic statement by one of the world's most respected physician groups, and shows the growing scientific consensus that marijuana is a safe, effective medicine for some patients, including many battling life-threatening illnesses like cancer and AIDS," said former United States Surgeon General Dr. Joycelyn Elders.

Nas Leaks More Details Of New LP - Praises M.F. DOOM
Nas' new album Nigger may never drop, but it definitely appears as though Nas is still promoting it like it's coming soon. Originally slated for release in 2007, then bumped to February, then April, the album is now due, July 1 on Def Jam, until of course it gets pushed back to Christmas time, and then becomes "Greatest Story Never Told Part. 2".
Apparently the album is still being finished, (which could actually explain the delay?) and Nas is leaking details. He recently sat down with MTV and had this to say, "Somebody asked me, what's your inspiration for this album? Everything that's happening every day. I can't really turn an album in when, like, next week it will be something else that will come to light and make me want to write about something. It's hard to finally wrap it up, but I finally got there. I'm finally there now...This year looks like it's going to be amazing." He also stated "Nigger" will include the tracks "Project Roach", featuring him rapping from the point of view of a cockroach (what?), and "Y'all My Niggers", on which Nas delves into the history of the n-word. Other songs include "This Is Not America", produced by Stargate, "Sly Fox", produced by Stic.Man of Dead Prez, and the title track. As of a February MTV.com report, an unnamed DJ Khaled-produced track and a Polow Da Don-produced number called "My Legacy" were jockeying for first single status. Another track called "Be a Nigger Too", co-produced by long-time Nas knob-twiddler Salaam Remi and Big Jack, recently surfaced as well. Jermaine Dupri and DJ Toomp are also rumored to have produced tracks on Nigger, and Rick Ross, the LOX, and both halves of Dead Prez will potentially guest on the record.
Nas also caught up with OnSmash and stated his praise for both Jay Electronica and get this - MF DOOM. Yep, Nas is trying to lock down some MF DOOMAGE on the new album, either MCing or production, but apparently Nas is having trouble finding him (or at least the real DOOM) and goes on to say that Jay and Doom are his two favorite in the game right now. Another interesting note of the interview is how Nas seems like he's surprised that Jay Electronica took time out of his schedule to record with him. Wow, glad Jay Electronica can fit a Nas collabo in his busy schedule of giving it to Badu and getting his dick sucked by bloggers and message board fan boys. I love rap. Immortal Technique - The 3rd World Tracklist
No hush hush news. Its coming. June 24th marks the release of "The 3rd World", one of the most anticipated albums in years. Yes, actual anticipation after almost 5 years since Immortal Technique's previous release. While no album has surfaced since Revolutionary, Vol. 2, he has released several freestyles and singles such as "Bin Laden" Featuring Mos Def and Eminem , which became an internet craze. Other noted releases include the "Watch Out" freestyle (Over Rick Ross's Hustling beat) and the music video for AKIR's "Treason" that featured Immortal Technique daily on national television since the BET Freestyle Friday battles.
Immortal Technique, the revolutionary, has made further recent news in regards to the Sean Bell verdict by not only attracting press, but also by drawing in over 100k unique visitors to his Myspace page in the last week alone. He has created a blog entry called the "Police State Chronicles: Excerpts from the Street" that calls action to those victim of police brutality and abuse of authority. In total, over 400 personal stories have been collected and gathers for a larger packet that will be sent to congress. No gender or race has been segregated from these files. Its is a national issue that all citizens must be aware of since it interferes with our constitutional rights. This is just one of the daily contributions that has kept Immortal Technique engaged in our society.
DJ Green Lantern (DJ for Jay-Z) and Immortal Technique will be live on Sirius Satellite's Shade 45 channel on Monday, May12th for more updates on this phenomenal release. The album's premise is far from "Playing it safe". While most every artist in the last year has stepped away from breaking the boundaries and tackling issues that we are still currently facing, Immortal Technique proves why he is still considered a Revolutionary of the world. The album release party has already been set in place, so no worries on this album to be anticipated after June 24th. Two worlds will collide for the birth of "The 3rd World".

50 Cent Show Disrupted in Angola
Chaos erupted at a performance by 50 Cent in Angola last week after a man jumped onstage and snatched 50 Cent’s neck chain. The scene, captured on video and circulated on YouTube, above, shows a man rushing 50 Cent, interrupting his performance and quickly dashing off. A spokeswoman for 50 Cent at Interscope Records, the label that distributes his music, said the interloper had been prevented from leaving, and that 50 Cent’s chain had been recovered. In the video the scuffle appears to have set off a scramble of fans. It was not clear if anyone was hurt.

50 Cent Fires Warning Shots At Rick Ross
Last year, 50 Cent didn't have the year he thought he should have had. He wasn't alone in thinking that. Many fans also believed 2007 wasn't quite the best year for Fif. Some even went so far as to say he may have been falling off. Now, 50 admits there were errors made, but he mainly puts the blame on the label. According to new reports, 50 is stating that the label heads, including Eminem, asked Fif not to release too many mixtapes citing that the tapes would take away from his official album record sales.
"They think I'm crazy," 50 told MTV about Eminem and label heads. "Sometimes [Em] misses why I put it out. He goes, 'Why did you put it out?' But I can't be as hot as I'm gonna be if I don't play around. I gotta spar before I go fight the champ. That's my concept of it. If I don't go out and make material and lock in, I'm not gonna make the best possible material for the next [official] project."
Aside from mixtapes and albums, 50 has also been working on beef. Recently, he and Fat Joe were in the midst of a war of words and photos. Now, he is going against rumors that claim he created a photoshopped picture of Joe's wife.
"The Hip-Hop Weekly [a fake cover] came out, and it was a thing with [Benzino] supposed to be [sleeping] with Fat Joe's wife. I didn't make that. I didn't have anyone [Photoshop] that. Why would you do that? I work for Hip-Hop Weekly? They'll know that there are issues between me and Joe, so when he approaches them, they'll say, 'Nah, it must be 50. You know how 50 is.' But I didn't care, 'cause I don't like Joe neither. It doesn't matter to me that they did it, but it didn't come from me."
Now, 50 is throwing warning shots at another MC, Rick Ross.
"Rick Ross is doing good. I also complimented him that he had the #1 album. I said, 'Just don't stand too close to this fat piece of ...' I'm saying that because of what [Joe's] trying to do. He runs to Miami and hangs out with them like he's running Miami? Does Fat Joe run Miami? I don't think Fat Joe runs Miami. I think people from Miami would be upset you're even questioning that. The fact he can influence DJ Khaled on the radio, does that mean Fat Joe runs Miami? ... I don't care if [Khaled] ever plays my records. He's not important enough to what I'm doing for it to matter. Not to say Miami doesn't count. He doesn't count for it to matter to me."
G-Unit's next LP, Lock and Load is scheduled to drop in the Summer. Before I Self Destruct, 50's new album is set to hit shelves late in 08.
