Blackwell

Hip Hop Artist Blackwell uses real experiences in his lyrics with a mix of R&B and Hip Hop. “It has an old school hip-hop flare, and not over produced, and I love the simplicity of the old school break beats with a new age sound”, says Layni Davis (Program Director of Sandhill Media Group).

Born and raised in Ohio, his influences range from his Great Uncle Otis Blackwell (who wrote for Elvis Presley) to Old School Pioneers: Biz Markie, Will Smith, and Heavy D. He’s describes his music as, “Music to wake up your eardrum”.

Blackwell has opened for National Acts: LL Cool J, Kayne West, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, with various gigs across Pennsylvania for the last 8 years, and plays ten shows a month, and has been fortunate enough to sell over 300 CDs last year.

With over 15 years of writing and performing experience to his credit combined with his marketability, He’s changing the way we present Hip Hop with songs that anyone can relate to. His talent and persona put him as one of Hip Hop’s next valuable commodities.
